| A return
to model building and flying. Part 0
March
2004
I intend these pages to be an occasional
update on my
progress towards building a Control Line model for the first time in
well over two decades, and all the unusual obstacles that will have to
be overcome because of my circumstances.
When I
started to build these web pages I had no idea
how much I would get re-involved with a hobby I thought I was long
past. Fellow modellers however, can be very persuasive, And the most
common question I get asked is, "When will you start building a model
again?" To which my reply has always been, "When the circumstances are
right I may do."
Finally having some transport,
(big hurdle number one)
seeing, and smelling models again, and actually getting my hands on a
control handle with a model on the other end, has been too much of a
temptation. An acute lack of space to build anything, followed by an
equally acute lack of money, are the other hurdles I have to overcome
somehow.
This journey will probably also show my
sometimes
chaotic way of working, and some messy building at times. So not for
the squeamish. I hope this blow by blow account right up to the flying
and trimming, stage, will interest the reader: and maybe prevent someone
else making the same mistakes I am bound to make. Forewarned is
forearmed.
